SAG-AFTRA members are the faces and voices that entertain and inform America and the world. With national offices in Los Angeles and New York, and local offices nationwide, SAG-AFTRA members work together to secure the strongest protections for media artists into the 21st century and beyond.

On July 13, the SAG-AFTRA National Board voted unanimously to call a strike following the conclusion of the TV/Theatrical/Streaming negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).

Although Parties came back to the bargaining table on October 2, 2023, AMPTP industry leaders walked away on October 12, 2023 after refusing to counter SAG-AFTRA’s latest offer.

Performers are asking for minimum earnings to keep up with inflation and compensation that reflects the value they bring to streaming platforms.  On the table are crucial issues such as fair wages, safe working conditions, and a performer’s inherent right to their voice and body likeness as artificial intelligence technology-use expands in the entertainment industry.

WHAT: San Francisco Northern California Local union members will rally at San Rafael City Hall in support of the SAG-AFTRA TV/Theatrical/Streaming Strike.

WHO: North Bay Labor Council Executive Director Jack Buckhorn, North Bay Labor Council Political Director Maddy Hirschfield, District 12 Assemblymember Damon Connolly, Local SAG-AFTRA Performers Geoff Bolt, Michael O’Brien, Mark Rappaport.

WHEN: Friday November 3, 2023 from 12:00PM to 1:00PM PT

WHERE: Court Street Plaza, 1000 Fourth Street, San Rafael, CA
