Hey Dream Team – Sending out a warning flare that the Sonoma Board of Supervisors agenda includes an item to increase the contribution limits for just the Sheriff and DA for the 2026 cycle. Current law already provides a biannual inflation adjustment to the County’s contribution limit, but the proposed ordinance gives a 50% bonus for the Sheriff and DA as their reelections were delayed two years under a recent state law. It’s looking like the contribution limits for the 2028 cycle will be $4,100 (+/- $100), so under the proposed ordinance, the limit would increae to approximately $6,200 for the Sheriff & DA.
